I hate it when I let someone down, and I have legitimate reasons (i.e., they're true), but there is simply no excuse for my irresponsible behaviour, so rather than explaining why I failed, I remain silent. So I feel bad for letting this person down, and I feel like they want an explanation but I can't offer one.
