evil problem sets

There seem to be a variety of evil in problem sets: really disgustingly
difficult problems; really disgustingly long problem sets; and then there
are long, irrelevant problem sets, like the current 18.06 PSets...
it's 1am, it's due at 4pm, and i'm having a very difficult time motivating
myself... it, of course, doesn't help that the lecturer is also my
recitation instructor, and that our section's average on the first test
was, i believe, lower than the class average.
I want to just punt this problem set, but 1) that would set a bad
precedent, 2) i'll probably need the points anyways, and 3) i gotta learn
this crap eventually...

and while i'm posting here, LD relationships can be interesting from a
let's-see-what-our-relationship-is-really-made-of point of view, but on a
personal level, they just suck. i'm losing a lot of energy and focus to
keeping my brain in gear and not getting sucked into an even more depressed
state...
(Heh. And yes, Gary, I -do- feel better after writing this. At the very
least, i feel ready to beat on this problem set... :) (Hopefully Rhu
will think it's ok to put a smilie there))
