I attempted to go to bed last night at 2:50am.
* At 3:00, my next-door neighbor and someone else from another floor
were arguing about peanuts. (never mind, that's another story....)
They were doing it quietly, but audibly, so I didn't feel like doing
anything about it since the act of getting up, turning on the light,
and going to ask them to go elsewhere would have been more of an
interruption.
* At 3:10, the argument stopped.
* At 3:15, the alarm clock of my two-doors-away neighbor started going off.
It was quiet, but audible; again, I didn't feel like complaining. Ten
seconds later it stopped and this person got up and went to the bathroom.
* At 3:22, the "sleep" feature of the alarm clock took effect and set
it off again. (or maybe it's "doze" or "snooze", I don't remember.)
My roommate came back from studying a few minutes later and kindly
knocked on the bathroom door and asked this person to turn off his
alarm. He did.
* At 3:30, my next-door neighbor started vacuuming up the peanuts
in his room. (never mind....)
* At 3:37, the vacuum cleaner stopped.
* At 3:38, the two-doors-away person was chanting. (he is Muslim)
* At 3:48 or so, the two-doors-away person stopped chanting.
What a fun way to spend an hour. :(
