Depressingly enough, it's not all that surprising that this jury found them not guilty. Most people who saw the tape on TV would be predisposed to find them guilty, but the jury was selected from people who either never saw the tape (few, I would guess) and people who saw the tape and still aren't convinced the beatings were unnecessary.
