Think about it though: The closest thing to a zero-g environment in most
people's experience is underwater, where a pen _will_ float away and
heavy boots _will_ keep you on the ground. So if you can accept that
"they knew this stuff at one time, but it's not part of their basic view
of the world, so they've forgotten it," then the heavy boots part isn't
much more amazing.
