honor: agreed. Why is it that sports players (football, baseball,
basketball, whatever) get paid millions of dollars a year, but
teachers can barely support themselves? Our society has its values
upside-down, IMHO.
Look at the Magic Johnson thing. He was far from the first person to
get AIDS in this country. But until someone in the public light, a
sportsman, was infected by HIV, nobody cared. In the long run, it
will probably help the situation w.r.t. education, etc., but I'm
amazed and saddened that it had to come to this.
