> If they are intent upon dying, and you cannot change that, than it is > better not to try to stop them, or get close to them. Sure. If you can't change their mind--ever--then you're right. It's a waste of time. The premise behind suicide prevention, though, is that if you can change your mind, you'd better try. I think in most suicidal cases, you can change their mind.
