If all fails...perhaps try apealling to one's inate survival
instinct that has more or less been imprinted genetically...
Actually, at times, people can "entertain", perhaps for the
lack of better word, suicidal thoughts to gain a sense
of control over one's own destiny that perhaps has been
lost during everyday living...this was a conclusion drawn
recently by a study done on the psychological states of
HIV positive homosexual males.
