I took my violin and viola to an instrument shop to have my bows re-haired. It turned out that both instruments needed their bridges re-shaped, both had seams that had opened and needed re-gluing, and the viola bow needed a new grip. This is kind of like going to a doctor to have a wart removed and finding out that you have gangrene.
