If you read this discuss meeting, then you've probably discovered
from all the other new transactions during break that not everyone
is gone. In fact, there are few times at MIT when the place is
really, mercifully, desolately empty. Maybe your dorm empties out
for breaks, but when I lived at Random, there was always quite a
bit of activity except right around Christmas. In fact, while I've
worked for Athena, we've had quite a number of people in E40 even
on Christmas day. (We hard-core nerds won't be stopped by holidays.)
The thing I like about the Institute when it's empty, is that I don't
need to go to a basement or roof to get some peace.
