you can agree with barry all you want, but you must remember that the
world is full of non-MIT graduates who are quite often good at what
they do without large measures of arrogance.

what is true is that some interviewers will erroneously classify
confidence as arrogance (and i believe that some writers in this space
similarly misclassify confidence).  i've lost out on jobs this way,
and i am not sorry about it.
