I would not go so far as to say that monogamy is old fashioned or
inappropriate. For most people, a monogamous marriage is the desirable
state of affiars. (Wording intentional :-) There is the question as to
whether or not an affair will *necessarily* ruin an otherwise perfectly
good marriage. Of course, one can always decide to make that be true,
but I think that it is not always the sign of Armageddon.
