A couple of days ago, my alarm blasted out at full volume at 4:30 in
the morning. My roommate Doug and I raced to turn it off. (I had a
headstart because Doug was in another room.) Unfortunately, in the
dark, I stepped on a sharp object, the pain from which I ignored until
I had triumphantly turned off the alarm. Then I turned the light on
and found that I had a tack imbedded to the head in my foot. It was
painful. It still is. The worst part was that I didn't realize what
it was until after I had turned the light on. I even walked on it for
a while. Ouch.
Bandaid didn't help all that much.
