It sounds like you have your choice of ways to hurt your friend - you
can let things be confusing, you can yell and scream now, or later, you can
run away and hide for a while... But admit to yourself that you are suffering
too. Keep in mind too that you have no idea what the other person's
perspective really is, no matter how well you know them. You may end up not
hurting them at all... better to work on minimizing *your* mental anguish, so
that "the world is a better place" on average, if not in all cases.
I know this sounds selfish. But given the choice between hurting two
people and hurting one, does it matter as much that the one is not you?
