Another sunburn hintis something I saw in a science magazine.
Namely, the suns rays are at their worst when the sun is >45degrees above
the horizon - i.e. when your shadow is <= you.

When the sun is lower than that, is is shining through much more atmosphere,
and the UV flux drops very quickly.
