NBC reports that NASA has officially admitted to problems with the HST. Its mirrors are either mis-aligned or mis-ground, such that the focus onto the imaging area is improper, leading to double images and fuzziness. $1.5B nearly down the tubes...but NASA will plan on a repair of some sort.
