I'm not quite sure I understand the problem you are having, but one
thing I do know is that macps IS installed in the NFS sipb locker.
Like so:

    pit-manager% ls -lL /mit/sipb-nfs/*bin/macps
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 jik 40960 Aug 3 1989 /mit/sipb-nfs/rtbin/macps*
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 jik 16384 Aug 4 1989 /mit/sipb-nfs/vaxbin/macps*
    pit-manager% grep sipb-nfs /usr/tmp/attachtab
    A1 0+NFS sipb-nfs cyrus.MIT.EDU /u2/lockers/sipb 18.74.0.8 1 /mit/sipb-nfs 0 3009 0 w

Therefore, whatever problems you are having are due either to a
problem with the dialup configuration (which the SIPB cannot fix) or a
problem with the way you are calling macps.

In addition, I just checked all of the dialup servers which I can
log into right now, and all of them have the afs sipb locker attached
right now, not the NFS sipb locker.

If you have a problem like this again in the future, please include
the following in your report:

    1. The output of "ls -lL /usr/sipb/*bin/macps".
    2. The output of "grep sipb /etc/attachtab".

and we will try to help more.
