Could you clarify this a bit? It would help if you could provide a
cut and paste of the cdrecord command line options that you used, and
specify which machine you used it on.
Did you follow all the instructions in the file /mit/cdrecord/README,
as far as loading kernel modules goes?
Your subject line says "dell" while the body says "ibm" and it can't
be both.
