gaim (0.11pre14) is currently installed in the im locker for linux, sgi, and sun.

However, its support for zephyr is currently quite poor (it doesn't deal with
subscribing to classes and instances properly, though it could be fixed), and
it has a tendency to segfault or randomly crash on plugins other than aim
on platforms other than linux.

A newer version (0.44) has been released in the past week, and I hope to install
it in the im locker RSN. A lot of bugs have apparently been fixed.

PS You might also want to try running licq, in the im locker.
