Questions Regarding Pine Usage

Hi...
I want to use Pine as my mail program. I did a search on the MIT website
and found information about how to set up pine for my account. However,
when I set up per the instructions, I receive a message not to use pine-inc.
Can you tell me how to modify the lines in the files such that I am using
the correct program? Currently, the web page
(http://web.mit.edu/answers/mail/mail_pine.html) says to modify
this file: ~/.environment file
with this line: add sipb
and this file: ~/.cshrc.mine file
with this line: alias pine 'pine-inc ; \pine'
