It seems to me that whenever I activate the screen saver, the
xwebster help message is also activated. This hasn't been a big
problem for me, but I thought that you guys should know, just in
case there could be some detrimental effect. Thanks.
You haven't provided us with enough information to help you solve
your problem. In particular, the following information would help:
1. How do you run xscreensaver? Just by typing "xscreensaver" at the
athena% prompt?
2. Do you run it with any command line options?
3. Do you have a .Xresources file? If so, do you have any
xscreensaver options in it?
4. What do you mean when you say that the xwebster help message is
"activated"? Does it print in the same window as the one from
which you start up xscreensaver, or in your console window? Does
it happen when you run xscreensaver, or just when you lock the
screen? Does it happen every time?
Answers to these questions would help us to diagnose your problem. It
would also help if you would make your start-up files world-readable
so we can look at them. To do that, type "chmod og+rx ~" to make your
home directory world-readable, and "chmod og+r ~/.??*" to make all of
your start-up files readable.
Note that this will enable other people to list the contents of your
home directory, and read your start-up files, although they won't be
able to read any of the other files in your home directory that you
don't make readable explicitly. If you don't want people to have this
access, you don't want to do the chmod's....
