One possibility is that
you might have made an alias in the past, that automatically runs
pine-inc for you when you type "pine". This alias is often in your
~/.cshrc.mine file. If you remove the line that defines the alias
from the file and log out and back in, you'll no longer run
pine-inc when you run pine.
