So, I built a version of xscreensaver with Stan's changes, and
installed it as xscreensaver-new in sipb/arch/sun4x_56/bin, because I
can't easily test it from here.
Along the way, I discovered that Stan's problem getting this to build
was twofold:
a) xscreensaver uses imake. On athena suns, this basically sucks,
because the imake config files suck (by default, they don't work).
It would be interesting to see someone pick up the relatively small
task of making xscreensaver use autoconf instead of imake. It
would also be interesting to see someone create workable imake
configurations for all of the `sipb platforms' in the sipb locker
(used by an alternative xmkmkf). This is also not too difficult (I
used to maintain my own tree back when I cared about imake more;
the difficultly is in keeping up to date).
b) sipbsrc != sipb/src. I don't recall how we let this terrible thing
happen. I'll be fixing it when I get back from vacation (roughly
around the year end), unless someone else does it first.
