Hello,
My name is Scott Wainner, I'm currently a student majoring in
Computer Engineering, class of '00. I maintain a large
computer performance optimization related web site at
http://www.sysopt.com, that recieves about 12,000
visitors per day.
I just wanted to tell you about a piece of software called
TweakDUN that can drastically speed up Windows 95 dial-up Internet connections,
in hopes that you might want to put a link or two to it someplace on your web
site. I've been helping students, and some Universities, with this software for
quite some time now. Anyway, by default, Windows 95 is poorly configured for
Internet communications.
TweakDUN optimizes the size of the data packets that are transmitted and
received
from the user's computer, thereby speeding up their data transfer rates by as
much as 2 times or more.
If you'd like more info, or want to link to it, please see
http://www.sysopt.com/maxmtu.html. If you would like a complimentary version to
try out, just let me know and I'll email one to you.
Thanks,
Scott
