The sources to all of the games sipb runs with the gameserver were
never in the sipbsrc locker. They were on charon. Only writeable by
sstaff. Which means that I couldn't write to them. Which means that
in order to improve them, I had to copy them to another location.
I never copied them into the sipbsrc locker because, until recently,
we didn't have enough space for them in the sipbsrc locker.
Furthermore, at one point I was running a local gameserver and mboggle
daemon on my workstation, using different sources from the ones on
charon, because they were experimental.
It might be relevant to point out that we don't have rrn sources in
the sipbsrc locker either. They are in /bloom-beacon/src, with
symlinks in the sipbsrc locker pointing to /bloom-beacon/src, which
should give most people a pretty good idea of what they have to attach
in order to get to the sources. The game sources are in the same
situation -- there is a symlink from /mit/sipbsrc/src/mboggle to
/pit/site/gameserver/vaxsrc/mboggle. Since the rrn sources are part
of the news source tree, it makes sense to have them with the rest of
the news sources.
Don't flame me for not putting the games sources in sipbsrc, because
I wasn't the one who put them on charon and made them only writeable
by sstaff in the first place.
As I already said, I'll copy them over as soon as I get the chance
to do so. It's not like my days are 100% free to clean up other
people's mistakes immediately as soon as some kind soul informs me
that they should be fixed.
