That particular message means that your .exmh-defaults file is missing
a colon in a place where it should have one; the line on which this
happens is line 52 of the file. You can probably fix this by editing
the file (perhaps with emacs) and seeing if you can figure out where
to insert the colon.

Did you happen to be running two copies of exmh at once? I
thought I put code in the bug-report procedure that would warn
me if you were, but perhaps it isn't working the way it should.
