I'd like to suggest that gv attach the gnu locker rather than lose if
gs isn't in the user's path.
What? You mean there are people who don't "add gnu" in their
dotfiles? Disgusting.
Seriously, I forgot about the gnu locker requirement (oops). I've
fixed it by making gv a shell script that attaches the gnu locker and
fixes the path and runs "gv.real". I've only changed it in the
various bin directories. I should fix the source tree so that "make
install" does the right thing. Someday.
