(I personally dislike 3D, even with color, but I tried it out anyway.)
If the 3D version is ever installed for real, the app-defaults need to
be modified so that the 3D icon buttons are larger (by approximately
the 3D border width). The edges of the button icons are currently
clobbered whenever the button is selected and deselected.
