What's the difference between the two?
xdvi and texx are just two different programs to do the same thing:
preview dvi files on the screen. Their user interface is also somewhat
different, but they both do the same thing. Currently, only xdvi is
supported by SIPB (and soon, this fall, by Athena). I believe this is
because the xdvi program was easier to maintain.
In the future, questions about the SIPB filesystem and the programs
contained therein would be better directed to the mailling list
"bug-sipb", sipb is a mailing list that goes out to the entire SIPB
membership, as well as many alumni.
