If you type:

	add gnu
	gzip foo

then it should compress the file foo into "foo.gz" and remove "foo".
You will probably need some space left in order to do this
(while it is doing the gzipping, both files need to fit in your account).

Note that you are unlikely to compress the files by any noticable
amount if they are gifs or jpegs (which are already compressed).
