The "Cannot perform malloc" toolkit error means that it has run out
of memory, which means that your RT is running out of memory. I'm not
sure what could be causing that if you exited from all the other
programs you were running; it's possible that you had some suspended
processes hanging around taking up memory or some defunct processes or
something. In any case, it's not xrn's fault, ignoring the fact that
xrn is a very large program in and of itself.

An aside: I'll bet you have a .signature file for use with rn or
xrn. The problem with this is that mh uses your .signature file
differently from rn -- rn assumes that your .signature file is
supposed to be appended to the end of your messages, while mh assumes
that the first line of your .signature file is supposed to appear as
your real name in the From: field of mail from you. Therefore, mail
from you sent using mh says "From: ____________________________
<oliver@ATHENA.MIT.EDU>" at the top.

To fix this, put a Signature: field in your ~/.mh_profile file with
your real name in it, and that will override the real name in your
.signature file for mh. My .mh_profile has a line in it that says:

  Signature: Jonathan I. Kamens

  I hope this helps.

jik
