In general you should ask the administrator of the news server that
you are using. On news.mit.edu, alt.music.thecure has been available
since the morning of 14 July 1995, and there are no plans to
discontinue carrying this group. With xrn in the sipb locker,
news.mit.edu is the default news server (i.e., you would be using this
unless you specifically customized your setup, e.g., by setting the
NNTPSERVER environment variable).
