Hi.
I'm a current MIT grad student working at AT&T for the summer. We have
some Suns (Sun OS 4.1.3) out here and we were hoping to get a hold of
some dictionary and thesaurus software. I spoke to someone at SIPB
last week on the phone who told me that xwebster is shareware and available
to take. Is this true? We ftp'ed a copy of it and tried to run it and got
"cannot execute." The person I spoke to also said that the webster database
was NOT shareware, but perhaps the OED was. When looking in a README file under
/afs/athena.mit.edu/software/oed we found it mentioned a company called
Open Text Corporation. Was this where everything was purchased? Do
you happen to have a contact for this company? Can you suggest a company
from whom to purchase a oed-like database (or better yet an ftp site from
which to get it)?
Any info and/or help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Farzana Khatri
