tin freezes up

Hello,
there is a very annoying problem with 'tin'. At some places it
just freezes up making you lose postings.
- when I first start it up, I have to answer 'q' to the question:
Subscribe to new group relcom.commerce.computers.ctrlsystems (y/n/q) [n]: q
otherwise it freezes and the only way to quit is with a ^\ (SIGQUIT).
Similarly, when I try to save a file and press 's' it freezs too.
There are workarounds on those two cases, but now it will also
freeze when I have a posting ready nad press 'p' to post it.
The posting is lost.
Can you help?

ps: the problem occurs at least on Suns SS5.
