So, I started reorganizing the sipb locker tonight, setting things up
to use the new `arch' layout and seperate the platform-dependant stuff
into seperate volumes. While doing so, I noticed several other major
changes I'd like to do:
o get rid of the tex stuff, if possible (including the symlinks to all
the athena stuff).
o /mit/sipb/prototype is confusingly named; it should get a new name
(and a compatibility symlink for a while, of course).
o /mit/sipb/bitmaps.x11 as an alternate site for
/mit/sipb/include/X11/bitmaps should go away.
o one of:
/mit/sipb/share/bin (but not /mit/sipb/share/lib; those things
would just go in /mit/sipb/share)
/mit/sipb/arch/[share|common]/{bin,lib}
/mit/sipb/share/{bin,lib}
should be made to hold platform-INdependant executables (shell
scripts, wrappers, etc.) and data.
I'm undecided on some, especially the last one. I'd like to hear some
opinions. I'll actually be implementing these changes over the next
couple days as appropriate (i.e. I'll be waiting for word from bert
before removing the tex stuff, etc.)
Send me your comments, please...
