Hi, Oliver.
Actually, the problem is that the link points to the wrong place, not
that it doesn't exist. The file is right where it's supposed to be:
/usr/athena/lib/tex/macros/latex/twocolum.{sty,doc}. I'm solving this
problem right now, by removing the symlinks.
