It's worth mentioning that someone just posted a free from-scratch
implementation of zmodem to alt.sources.
From: brlewis@MIT.EDU
The sources jik mentioned built cleanly. I've put the binaries zmrx and
zmtx in the telnet locker for Ultrix. Sources are in
/mit/telnet/src/zmodem
In other news, recently announced was "lrzsz". (Uploaded to
sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/apps/comm/. Don't you just love seeing
that "Linux" in pathnames of non-unix-specific apps? :-)
From the README file:
Lrz/Lsz is a cosmetically modified zmodem/ymodem/xmodem package built
from the public-domain version of Chuck Forsberg's rzsz package. This
package contains NO code from later releases of rzsz which would
preclude it from being released under the GPL...
Please note that credit should be given to Chuck Forsberg (rzsz) and Stephen
Satchell/Satchell Evaluations (crc routines) for this package...
I'll install this in sipb or outland or somewhere, if anyone believes
that a zmodem program is needed beyond the one in the telnet locker.
(I'm sorry, what exactly was it that started this thread?)
Have a nice day.
