dvips problems with palatino font

The dvips in the sipb locker does not seem to work
with the palatino font. I have a single page latex
article that I can print fine using
/usr/athena/bin/latex and /usr/athena/bin/dvi2ps
but fails if I use the tools in /mit/sipb/bin.
It produces a blank page postscript file.
I have included the file below along with a transcript
of my attempt at processing it.
Let me know if there is anything else you need
to reproduce this bug.
