I was reading alt.music.alternative in trn, and I got to the end of
article number 100926 (actually, I'm not sure it was really the end,
but trn put up the "End of article" prompt). I hit space to get the
default action 'n' which was supposed to follow the thread. Instead,
trn exited with value 1 and the message:

Server's response to GROUP alt.music.alternative:
These are very close to the actual dates things happened unlike what
DGC and Goldmountain have led the public to believe: March 26 or 27
Kurt checks into Exodus drug treatment center in LA, leaves by the
29th. Returns to Seattle. Everyone knows he determined to commit
suicide. Courtney OD's at Chateau Marmont Monday March 28th, Frances
is present. Nanny calls paramedic. She's OK enough to talk to Robert
Hilbun two days later, more lying for an L.A. Times cover story that
appears two days after Kurt's death
[except this text was all on one line, like each paragraph of the article]

which looks like either a continuation of the article. When I
restarted trn, it didn't give me that warning you expect after it dies
messily, but the status of read articles was slightly out of date
(i.e., back to the last checkpoint). Reading this article again
(<215302Z11061994@anon.penet.fi>) and then trying to go on to the next
article the same way made trn die again.

Hitting 'n' without going to the end of the article, trn said
"Skipping unavailable article" and then died the same way.

Hitting 'k' within the article gave the same result (death of trn) except
with a different random missing line from the article.

Hitting 'k' from the threads display seemed to work o.k., thankfully :-)
