Hi, Craig.
By default Mosaic uses the gateway at NCSA for WAIS URLs, but
sometimes the NCSA server drops (every binary of Mosaic without WAIS
support uses it, including, I think, all the Mac/Windows versions
everywhere). Native WAIS support has been on my list of things to try
for a while, but WAIS is anything but a steady target, and it's not
trivial to get a working binary out of it these days for all of our
platforms. :-(
I don't honestly know what's involved in the WAIS gateway; I hope to
make it not necessary, but I don't know when I'll get to it right now.
(perhaps over spring break; certainly over the summer if you're
looking that long-range).
