   check_x9700 and check_lw may be mentioned in ancient SIPB docs about
   printing; can someone check on this?

Documentation manager, perhaps? :-)

   When using a square bitmap, the screensaver window should be square,
   but it's not:
   xwininfo ==> Window id: 0xa00016 (xscreensaver)

	    ==> Upper left X: 499
	    ==> Upper left Y: 0
	    ==> Width: 24
	    ==> Height: 20
	   ...

Toolkit bug. If you wish, you can report it as such. The geometry of
the window is set completely by the toolkit.

   Subject: xscreensaver dialog boxes

   1) The cursor and text come up black rather than *foreground.

I believe it's either this or have it not show up at all when using
reverse video on monochrome displays. Toolkit bug. Fixed in the next
release and all that.

   2) in the 'change lock message' box, typing return in an attempt
   to get a multi-line message (as one might expect to be able to do given the
   size of the box) cancels.

Return does not cancel, it accepts what you've typed. The lock
message box word-wraps -- you just keep typing to type a string longer
than one line. The message gets wrapped automatically when you are
done to fit in the icon.

   3) When you change the message, and then save the screen, the window
   displays it once, then shrinks to the original size, and clips the text
   you asked it to display.
   [I got this to happen once, but I can't reproduce it]

Neither can I. I've never seen it happen. If you can get it to
happen reliably, I'll see what I can do.

   Subject: xdvi is busted on color

   xdvi on color (xdviv) used to work about 3 months ago, but it doesn't
   put the text in the foreground anymore; it puts in some random (?) color.

   It also flames:
   X Toolkit Warning: No type converter registered for 'String' to 'Color' conversion.

Once again, toolkit bugs. Fixed (eventually) in a future X Consortium
bugfix.
