I don't normally use xscreensaver +icon, but I noticed that if I run
xscreensaver +icon on a Maxine (I don't know about other platforms),
unlock the screen (I have autoLock on), and then try to run
xscreensaver +icon again, occasionally it works, often it blanks the
screen and then immediately exits, and sometimes it seems to work, but
then when I hit a key, etc. the machine freezes up (the icon stops
moving, the timer stops updating, etc.). A couple of times when this
happened, I used zephyr to remotely do a ps, and it said two
xscreensaver's were running. Killing them both unfreezes the machine.
