With appropriate work, it should be possible to configure our TeX stuff
so that a bare pathname in $TEXINPUTS, etc. pulls in the "default path".
e.g. my $TEXINPUTS at home is $HOME/tex/macros:
meaning look at my private collection first, then look in the 'standard
places'
Rhu, are you the TeX configurer these days? Are things set up this way
in the SIPB copies? The Athena copies?
