In the future, you might also want to try contacting OLC, the on-line
consultants, who might be able to give you more timely help, even
though they'll probably tell you they don't support programming
questions.
To answer your question, though, the XShape stuff is from a set of
standard extensions to Xt developed here at MIT for ding _shaped_ or
_non-rectangular_ windows. Normally, you'd link in this extension
library with the -lXext option.
Why don't you try this out and get back to us?
