Hello,
I've tried to send files over to athena in the past and have not had much of
a problem. Recently (Last couple of months) I have not been able to
successfully send over postscript files. I use rz on athena and use Crosstalk
for Windows at home. The transfer typically works for awhile and then starts
re-sending blocks that it has already transferrred. I just tried to send a
file over and it got to about 10K when it started over at 5K and continued to
10K and then restarted over at 5K again. It never got past 10K. A copy of
the shortened file can be found in /afs/athena/user/rui/Public/PDA-D.PS
and a similar file that I transferred over via disk can be found in the
same directory with the name pda.final.version.PS. (I removed the control D's
and M's from the pda.final.version.PS file.)
My home computer:
Gateway 2000 486 33/66 Mhz DX2
14.4K Modem with Data compression
Zmodem Settings of "Normal" Timing and 1024 packet size.
Athena machine:
ninja.mit.edu
DecStatino 5000/25
Any help would be appreciated.
Chris.
