Occasionally, our news server loses articles that are sent to it.
Also, occasionally, it takes a long time for a posted article to
actually show up.
However, much more frequently, articles are not posted because there
is some error in them. The most frequent errors are failing to
include a Subject line in your posting, including a line in the header
that is missing a space after the colon, and including extra spaces in
the Newsgroups line (the only space that should be in the Newsgroups
line is the one right after the colon -- no spaces after the commas).
Unfortunately, are current news set up is a bit lax about reporting
such problems back to the user.
However, the new software, to which we will be switching in the near
future, is much better about this, and in addition, it doesn't lose
argicles (as far as we know). Therefore, this problem should go away
soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
