Hey folks, now that your files are on AFS, can you think about
changing your /usr/sipb link from /mit/sipb to /afs/sipb/project/sipb,
to allow us to use that path specification rather than having to
'attach sipb'????
(Requests like this should be sent to bug-sipb, not to the entire sipb
mailing list.)
No, we can't. The symbolic link is there for a reason. If we change
it, then people cannot use the Athena copy of the SIPB locker if the
SIPB AFS cell goes down.
In any case, you're supposed to be using /mit/sipb, not /usr/sipb.
There is a chance that Athena may decide to remove the /usr/sipb link
at some point in the future, and we are trying to discourage its use.
You can just put "add sipb" into your .environment file, and the
problem will be solved.
