In trying to read rec.pyrotechnics, the listing of articles first appeared
normal, but as I tried to use the scrollball to move backward, the listing
became garbled:

After quiting the group, I tried to reenter, and received an Information popup
giving the date and saying:
No articles in `rec.pyrotechnics', probably killed or canceled
I then exited betaxrn, restarted it, and reentered the newsgroup. All the
articles had been marked as read, even those I hadn't read yet, and none
in the sequence had been killed or cancelled.
This has happened only once so far. If it repeats anytime, I'll let you know.
