William, if the HFT wasn't "actually there," then the error would be
"No such file or directory," not "Permission denied."
I could have sworn that I turned on both setuid and setgid bits on the
RS/6000 executable when I installed it yesterday, but ls -l now shows
that I didn't, so I have now. I'm going to release the volume, and
then the problem should go away.
