(sorry jon)
About what?
On a 7.4 dec 5000 133 (grayscale display) today. I started up xscreensaver
for the 3rd time in that session, and walked away before I saw it start.
When I came back the console showed the error message:
Xlib: unexpected async rpely (sequence 0x39>!
Ugh. I suspect an X server error or fluke of some sort, about which I
can't do anything. Is this repeatable?
There's a white square that looks like the floating icon floating icon
floating around very slowly. It's blank except for a short horizontal line in it.
New zephyrgrams pop up and aren't obscured.
It won't respond to mouse or keyboard input.
I'm rebooting.
[You said subsequently that xfree worked.]
This implies to me that perhaps xscreensaver was working, but that the
X server had a whole bunch of queued events to deal with, which is why
the zephyrgrams weren't getting obscured immediately and the floating
icon wasn't updated properly.
If you can duplicate this at will, please let me know, and I'll try to
track it down when I'm back in Boston. Otherwise, I suspect we'll
just have to chalk it up as a fluke and ignore it.
Thanks for the report.
